Steven Armus recently began a horticultural career by founding Native Prairie Restoration in Franksville, Wisconsin, following success in his dermatology practice, Dermatology Consultants of Wisconsin, where he still practices. In his spare time, Steven Armus gives back to many local charitable organizations, including volunteering at United Migrant Opportunity Services (UMOS), which seeks to help under-served populations to thrive.

A non-profit organization founded more than 50 years ago, United Migrant Opportunity Services hosts a number of programs meant to help disadvantaged people in the areas of workplace development, social services, and child development. Over 40 programs are in place to ensure that every person has a chance to work towards a better life.

Operating throughout Wisconsin, Missouri, and Florida, United Migrant Opportunity Services prides itself on its work program, engaging local employers in the process while offering free training and community support. A GED program and local job programs are available to assist economically disadvantaged individuals.

Socially, the organization offers many services to help prevent violence, promote health, and provide food and shelter for anyone suffering from homelessness. The UMOS Latina Resource Center offers support to those impacted by sexual assault and domestic violence, as well as 24-hour crisis counseling for victims of human trafficking.
